bumping this question - would love to get some thoughts on this ... seems like Genstar is highly underrated, huge aum, and crazy lean...

 

Apax. It's a megafund, NYC, more respected in the industry, better business school opportunities, history, pedigree, global reach.

Always helps to have the MF logo on your resume. 

 

I understand Genstar has seen a lot of success in recent years but Apax still seems like the straightforward choice here, assuming you get into an industry group you want. I would be surprised to learn if more than 10% of candidates with both offers would choose Genstar.
