Going to Direct PE Fund, but want to eventually go to LBO fund
Hi guys,
I am a 2nd year banking analyst at an elite boutique in NYC. Going to a direct investment firm that does co-investment and does get CIPs and stuff so will look at buyout stuff sometimes but would not call it a buyout firm. My goal was to get to a buyout fund but this was my best shot in recruiting (want to better understand value creation rather than just doing deals). What is the best way to eventually move over / have people done that before?
Thanks.
if you are going to be focused on direct PE investments then you should be fine, if you will do co-investments then it wont be easy and you should try to move internally if possible.
