Looking to gain more insight on the PE Group at GS. What exactly do their analysts do and how are hours/comps compared to IBD Analysts? How are their bonuses calculated?

I know one person (analyst) in the MBD team of GS. Apparently it depends on the asset class and seniority. She/he works on buyouts in London till 1 at night, every day. I don’t know anything about the culture of their Growth Equity or Real Estate teams though.
Have context for nyc office. Same pay as IBD, generally similar hours. IBD does a fair amount of origination for MBD, so you will end up being will positioned in auctions / competitive processes. Very different experience across credit, buyout, etc. Each team functions more or less like its own business.
