Headhunters for Family Office roles?
Anyone know if there is a go to recruiter for these roles, especially at the senior level? Seems like they ppp up randomly through the usual suspects but don’t see them very often vs. the number of roles there appear to be out there.
For family office roles, especially at the senior level, there doesn't seem to be a single "go-to" recruiter universally recognized for these positions. However, based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights:
General Headhunters: Many family office roles are filled through broader headhunting firms that specialize in private equity, hedge funds, or asset management. Firms like KEA, Walker Hamill, Blackwood, PER, and Dartmouth Partners are often mentioned for PE and related roles, which could overlap with family office opportunities.
Networking: Family office roles are often filled through personal networks rather than traditional recruiting channels. Leveraging connections within the finance industry or directly reaching out to family offices can be more effective.
Targeted Search: Some recruiters may specialize in niche markets or have experience placing candidates in family offices. It's worth reaching out to recruiters who focus on private equity or hedge funds, as they may have insights into family office opportunities.
Direct Outreach: If you're targeting a specific region or type of family office, consider reaching out directly to family offices or their investment teams. Many roles are not widely advertised and are filled through direct connections.
If you're looking for a more tailored approach, consider combining networking with outreach to the headhunters mentioned above.
