Hg Capital

Anyone have any information on Hg Capital in NY?

Saw CPI email they are hiring associates. Know they are a very successful UK based software focused PE fund that has recently raised $17bn+ across 3 funds. Obviously impressive and a growing US focused franchise - just hired 20y Vista veteran to be head of North America.

Given impressive reputation, more curious to hear feedback on culture, associate experience, WLB, compensation, and pros/cons of Europe HQ'd firm.

Thanks in advance!

It wouldn't be my first choice tbh. I interacted with them on the sell-side and they were a pain to work with. Excessive diligence requests about non-material items and constant weekend pings. They then got cold feet and withdrew from the process at the last minute with an explanation that didn't make sense. That said, their track record is impressive and they seem to be deep software experts.
