How can a Corporate Investment analyst move to Private Equity?

Hi all, I have been working in corporate investments role at a top player in the hard assets industry (think RE/Energy/Infra) since I graduated college. I have done a few large deals and have a very good modeling and analytical skill set and am trying to move to a different sector within PE. Since I am not a typical banking candidate, I have not had the best success with Headhunters so far; none have reached out to me and have not received responses to any cold LinkedIn messages. If anyone has any cold emailing advice or general advice, relevant to head hunters, it'll be greatly appreciated.
