PE base and bonus pay is great but people normally talk about carry being the big money-maker. With carry beginning as a VP and presumably taking ~7 years to materialize, how often do people either (1) get pushed out / not promoted (2) leave on their own accord either to another fund or leaving PE prior to carry actually materializing?
