How soon is too soon to reach out to HHs and PE firms?

First year analyst in IB 3 months into the job. Plan to stay the two years but am eyeing a swift exit to private equity as soon as that second bonus hits. I’m primarily focused on LMM/MM funds in the south (Atlanta, Nashville, etc) which makes a lot of the recruiting material a little irrelevant for me. I’ve begun the technical prep work and have a really good idea of the firms / industries I’m interested. I want to be proactive in this process but I also don’t want to shoot myself in the foot. Any advice / recommendation on how to proceed?
