How to be a good PE analyst with no banking background?
Joining a MM PE/PC firm in the summer after I graduate and I want to make the most of these last few months leading up to it. The firm does have a couple of analysts ahead of me that can help me when I start, but the analyst program isn't seem super built-out/hasn't existed for that long. I was at a growth shop the previous summer and only did light modeling work although I've done a lot of memo writing. I've been doing around 2 hours of Excel a day just to get quicker and aiming to build 1-2 LBOs a week over the next couple of months. I also plan to work on powerpoint formatting as well. What else do I need to be doing to get up to speed or what resources should I be reading/listening to? I have read some of the banking posts regarding this topic and assume a lot of the same things apply.
I have a few resources, feel free to pm
