How to find/recruit for LMM/MM PE firms?

With recruiting for larger funds getting kicked off, I was wondering if the process is similar if I want to recruit for a LMM/MM fund? I've made up my mind that I want to join a fund of that size.

I'm currently at a BB in the South (pretty strong group deal flow wise). I want to join PE as a generalist or join a firm that has some growth/tech focus. The only locations I'm comfortable with are Texas, Florida and maybe Chicago.

Any advice on how I can go about finding PE firms that fit that criteria as well as how I can reach out to HH's OR direct PE employees who fall in this range would be super helpful! Thanks.

Any LMM firm with under $500MM, I would just message people that work there on LinkedIn. Recruiting isn't as structured in LMM.

Get on their radar, send periodic messages/updates, and ask if they know anyone with open roles. LMM is a really, really small world and most of the time I run into funds ~$500mm or under, we will have mutual friends. I haven't been around very long either.

When kids reach out usually we refer them out to someone else who is a better fit if they seem competent and we aren't hiring. Get inbounds this way too so I know others do it too. I think people refer applicants frequently in LMM because the firms are small, so hiring is less frequent and "giving away" good applicants isn't a huge deal as you might not be hiring for an investment role very frequently.

MM is definitely more structured.
