How To Understand the Investment Strategies of PE firms

Hi everyone! I am currently trying to look into which PE firms I would like to work at down the line and wanted to get information on their investment strategies. However, I'm not quite sure how to do that or figure out what differentiates firms apart from their brand name. For example, Blackstone. What exactly is their investment strategy? I have no clue apart from the fact that they're a top shop on the street.

For these firms, I went on their website as well, but the information tends to be extremely generic like "achieve high returns."

Any advice as to how people found more specific investment strategies for PE firms?
