Impossible to get into PE post IB (Senior) Associate ?
We all know how early and fast PE on-cycle recruiting happens, and it seems like if someone stays in banking "too long", they won't get looked by PE shops.
Is this true?

I've seen some people make the transition into PE from IB as a senior associate or VP but its usually through connections or through working on a deal with said PE firm. Its a lot harder to make the switch mostly because you're utilizing different skills in IB versus PE and cause the seniors don't know where to place you since they usually don't want a VP running processes if they haven't had any experience on the buy-side. Definitely not impossible but just a lot harder.
