Inflexion 4.5bn fundraise

Firms seems to be doing very well, almost doubled the fund size and are now one of the larger EU mid market firms. Also branching out into other adjacent funds (minority etc) and have opened a US office.

What I heard on comp for the EU monkeys, all in GBP:

  • Senior Asssociate: 135 + 135k
  • VP: 170-200k base, assuming 100% Bonus
  • Carry from VP onwards, but founders apparently a bit stingy (tbc?)

Any insights? How do you look at the firm?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Inflexion's recent growth and fundraise to £4.5bn indeed positions it as a significant player in the European mid-market private equity space. Their expansion into adjacent strategies (e.g., minority investments) and opening a US office signals ambition and adaptability, which are positive indicators for the firm's trajectory.

Compensation Insights:

  • Senior Associate: £135k base + £135k bonus (100% bonus assumption).
  • Vice President (VP): £170k–£200k base, with a 100% bonus assumption.
  • Carry: Available from VP level onwards, though there are mentions of the founders being "a bit stingy" with carry allocations—this might warrant further investigation or clarification during negotiations.

Firm Outlook:

Inflexion's doubling of fund size and strategic moves suggest strong performance and growth potential. However, the comment on carry being limited could be a consideration for long-term wealth creation. For those evaluating the firm, it would be wise to weigh the firm's growth trajectory and deal flow against potential limitations in carry and overall compensation structure.
