Info on Lone Star Funds

What's Lone Star's investment strategy/focus? Does it focus mostly on real estate assets, or does its scope cover distressed assets/situations generally?

Given its size and track-record, there is surprisingly little info. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Don't know much about them (no one does) but have heard sketch things about them through the grapevine (mainly around culture, their relationship with Hudson Advisors, fake sounding linkedin reviews, comp etc). They do have a dedicated corporate buyout fund that focuses primarily on industrials and materials but I get the sense real estate and distressed debt are still their main strategies. It really is strange how low of a profile they keep despite their size and (apparently) stellar returns.

If you're interviewing with them definitely try to figure out what the deal is with Hudson advisors and what your role would actually be.
