Infra PE Resources

Can anybody share recommendations of books or modelling tests that would be relevant for Infra PE?

Currently an analyst in P&U, and have read a few good books and gone through Ed Bodmer's website, but any more resources would be welcome. Thanks!

For Infrastructure Private Equity (Infra PE) resources, here are some top recommendations based on the most helpful WSO content:

Modeling Resources

  1. Ed Bodmer's Website

  2. F1F9 Free E-Books

  3. Specialist PF Model Advisory Shops

    • Paid training courses from firms like DWPF, Operis, Corality, and the Big 4 are excellent for infrastructure modeling. While expensive, they are highly effective.
  4. WSO Elite Modeling Package

Books and Additional Resources

  1. Research Reports from Investment Banks

    • Focus on 2-3 sectors within infrastructure to understand trends and sector-specific nuances. These reports are often referenced in interviews.
  2. Practice Modeling Tests

    • Many Infra PE interviews include modeling tests. If you can access sample tests or create simple models from scratch, it will help you learn on the go.
  3. PPP and Infra Asset Modeling

    • Public-Private Partnership (PPP) modeling is a key area. Practice building models that incorporate debt facilities, refinancing, and interest during construction.

Tips for Preparation

  • Networking and Outreach: Reach out to headhunters and firms in the Infra PE space to understand their expectations and culture.
  • Storytelling: Be prepared to articulate why you are transitioning to Infra PE and how your background aligns with the fund's goals.
  • Sector Knowledge: Be ready to discuss trends in the infrastructure space and identify sectors you would invest in.

These resources and strategies should help you strengthen your Infra PE preparation. Good luck!
