Internship at LC PE or Tier 1 BB

Hey guys,

could you please share your opinion on what internship would be better for a future career, LC PE (think of BC Partners, Permira) or T1 IBD (JPM/MS)? I have recently got both offers for the next summer, and tbh I dont know which one should I choose. Both offers are for a T2 city in Europe (think of Frankfurt, Paris). I will try to break into PE for a full time position after graduating the year after next, and I was thinking that a buy side internship would be much more on point. On the other hand, the buy-side recruiting directly out of the university is very uncertain, so I might need to go through the IBD route anyways. Would an internship in an LC PE fund be on par with T1 IBD internship for BB full-time recruiting? Thanks in advance!
