Hard to answer without knowing more. Is growth equity good for direct PE transition? Yes. Unfortunatley, that's about all we can give you here. While a previously working at a smaller fund isn't a bad thing by any means, we've got no way of knowing which size, direction, or anything about the PE firm you'd want to go into. Location? Comp index? Zone focus?
So it will either be helpful, or it won't, or it might be. Gotta give us some more specifics about your ideal landscape of the type of firm you'd want to enter into.
