Internship Work Hours - Am I Working Too Little?

Hello everyone,

I'm current working at a decently sized buyside fund and am wondering if I'm working too little (hours wise) at the moment. I've spoken to other interns in similar departments and they talk about the long hours they work and mention that if an intern clocks out at around 7:00 its not taken too well by the team. I've yet to be staffed on something which has a short deadline and thus clock out at around 7:00 every day because there's not much more I think I can do. For now I've really just been doing research and I've been able to meet my deadlines. I imagine my work will pick up once what I'm working on gets to more advanced stages but I am still worried how I may be perceived by my group.

I'm wondering on how I can best approach this situation because getting a full time offer is my objective as I absolutely love what I am doing right now and could definitely see myself in this position/group. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the reply. I was told pretty recently to focus on the things I'm working on since theyre expected to get more demanding soon. Should I still ask around and see if theres anything to be done or just wait for things to pick up?
