Investor Relations or Sales & Trading

Just graduated from school starting a role within a firm doing IR. Wondering outlook on a career path in IR, vs one on the sales side of S&T. Lifestyle, compensation, etc. Both inherently sales roles, S&T probably being a bit faster paced with more structured hours. Wanted to get opinion and see what people on the street thought.
