Is it worth paying for PE recruiting prep?

Incoming analyst at a top BB in NY. Planning on hopefully trying to do on-cycle buyout interviews; is it worth paying for interview/modeling prep? Assuming it would cost around 5k all-in. Or am I better studying on my own?

Please don't pay $5K - for techincals all you need is Vault guide + quick LBO under 1 hour + know your deals. Vault guide is a quick google search and the analysts at your future BB will probably have a collection of models they have been passing down for the quick LBO, or at least they'll share whatever they used individually. More than that it's not just a waste of time and money but it may also hurt your chances by neglecting other parts of the prep like knowing where you want to go and having sharp answers for behaviorals to back that up.
