Is this case study format unreasonable?

So I got off the phone with a recruiter and have a case study coming up that I need to take a whole day off of work for (24 hour case). Apparently it's 12 documents including 3 10-k's and many equity research reports and news articles. The industry apparently is unrelated to the fund that I am applying for/the banking group that I work in and it has more to do with late stage investing versus the type of role I am actually applying for. Makes me feel hesitant and a bit skeptical what actually working at this firm will be like, the people that I've talked to there so far seemed like hardos as well. Headhunter indicated they are looking for a 10-ish page word doc + any supporting analyses and charts I can produce alongside it. Just seems like too much versus the standard 3/4 hour study with a standard LBO and a brief write up. I just don't have the time to spend digging through that much info + they mentioned outside research is extra credit. Also I work in middle market healthcare banking and we deal with private co's, so I just have no experience with this type of thing.
