Have an opportunity to join a CD team at a mega fund portfolio company. Wondering if there is a slight chance that I could lateral to a PE associate role within the MF. I could probably get into MM PE with my background but definitely not straight to a MF.
CD sounds very appealing to me - less hours (so they say...), working on one long-term strategy, and generally acquiring the same type of companies. Only downside is the massive cut in pay e.g. quoted $130K all-in, whereas associates in banking are now making 300-400k.
Perhaps I can slowly make my way to a CFO position and the MF would place me into dif CFO positions after each exit? Is that a thing?
