Does this matter though? Good brand name regardless and still going to be a similar investing experience than a lot of other shops.

I personally think that’s it’s better to move around 1-2x in growth and that if you come in as a mid level (sr aso / vp) it’s better having experience of how things work at another shop and hit the ground running with outside experience long term than coming in as an aso and working your way up with only in-platform knowledge as crazy as that may sound

Because of natural turnover you usually get bogged down w shit over time and dont relinquish those infrastructure responsibilities. Obviously sucks needing to do the whole prove yourself thing in the first year but you get a lot of credit when you move platforms from a brand name investing platformI internally at smaller GE shops politically vs folks that come out of undergrad or just banking
