From interviewing and speaking with a senior associate there, the culture seems pretty good overall. Firm is headed by senior guys that are older and have families so they’re a bit more laid back (obviously all relative, it’s still PE). The associate role seemed to be very long before promotion, but they do promote without b school if that’s a consideration. Biggest downside imo is the reverse commute given the location

Think they have a solid rep. They have been around for quite some time. We see them a lot in healthcare processes, specifically in pharma services and contract manufacturing. They're not afraid to pay up for assets / pre-empt processes based on my direct (albeit limited) observations.

Just recently raised a $3.4 billion fund, above their target. From the data I've seen, their returns have been okay (mainly 2nd / 3rd quartile). I wouldn't want to work in Mount Kisco but it's still only ~1 hour away from NYC. Not sure where else your friend is looking but it's definitely a firm worth considering.
