Late 20’s career switch into IB/PE/REPE -realistic?

25, ~6 years as a construction site manager in Hungary (Hochbautechniker degree, no finance/business background), planning to move into RE development in Vienna, then study full-time at WU Wien, then try to pivot into REPE (acquisitions/AM) afterward — realistically finishing the degree around age 29-30.

Given the age and the late/non-traditional start (no finance degree until my late 20s, no banking/PE internships, coming from a technical/operational construction role), how much of a handicap is this really? Is this a "still very doable if you execute well" situation, or am I kidding myself about the odds at this stage compared to someone who started the standard path at 22?

Would appreciate honest takes, especially from anyone who broke in later/non-traditionally or who recruits for these seats.
