Lateral in PE
Hey all - in the heat of oncycle I signed an offer for a SF based firm and realize I don’t really want to move there. I realize I should have said no but how bad is it to lateral after a year?

Career Resources
Would the firm allow you to work remotely in the future?
Out of curiosity, what don't you like about SF?
Family and friends near NY and I love the city. Maybe I’ll like it but who knows.
Why not re-recruit/renege? Still a ton of firms recruiting
It’s a small industry and it’s still a great firm. I’m not a big fan of reneging.
Also signed with an SF-based firm during on-cycle and a bit trepidatious about the move. Love NYC, but going to give SF a shot. If there’s a time to try a new city and build a network there, it’s now while we’re young, so I think we should commit to it and see what happens. Let’s hope we like it lol
