LBO Modeling — but also DCF, Mergers?

Understand that LBO modeling is table stakes for PE recruiting, but wondering if knowing DCF or merger models is necessary too? Figure it’s better to build step by step > only knowing how to LBO model and nothing about DCFs, M&A, Comps, etc when I hit the desk

You need nothing before hitting the IB desk; on-cycle is happening 6 months into your first year now a lot of banks have pushed back. You only need an LBO for PE recruiting; I am not sure I have done a full comphrensive merger model at all in the past 1 1/2 years.
