LMM Fund Raising Question - LP Composition

Have been told that it's easier to raise once you have the first ~$15m - $25m locked in for a $100m fund.

My question for the enlightened...does it matter who those first LPs are? Any signal issues? IE if the first $30m of a $100m raise is all family offices/from entrepreneurs and no institutions will that make it more difficult to raise from institutions?

I have no clue how real signal is for this type of fundraising. It's very real in venture investing, and I figure some of the same dynamics might be at play. IE if you know someone well and they did solid DD, it's a pretty easy cheque to write.
