LMM PE Recruiting Timeline

Over the past couple of months, I've spent some time trying to find LMM PE/PC (assuming it's similar for PC, just don't want to clog timeline) firms that focus on the industry I cover. I know most of these LMM companies don't go through recruiters, but when would be the appropriate time to reach out to ask about their Q3 hiring needs (post analyst bonus)? Unsure if they'd have any insight now, but also don't want to ask when it's too late
With my current role and background (Corporate Banking), I doubt I could go straight to a UMM/MF, but wouldn't mind working at a shop with 10 people and $500mm - $1bn AUM. I've pulled emails from their website ( [email protected] or an admin's), so can start firing off emails whenever

I think you'd be surprised at the amount of these firms that actual do used recruiters... That said these type of firms are usually happier if they don't have to pay the recruiter fee. Generally I've seen these firms restart their recruiting cycle after Q1 ends to try to find someone for Q3. So if you want to be in ahead you could start reaching out between now and mid-March. You might get some stiff arms though saying they haven't made a decision yet on if they'll be hiring so those might get pushed till April timeframe.

Edit: Q3, not Q4

We primarily use a recruiter but if a good candidate sends a cold e-mail we would add them to our process.
