Those are very high figures! May I ask what sort of experience you had prior (BB / EB IBD)? And the full breakdown of your comp.
I am 1st Year PE Analyst (1 year prior in BB Lev Fin) at a UMM fund:
Base: 70
Bonus: 50-90 expected

He's not your MD man, your formatting is fine
Very impressive. Would you mind sharing fund/ firm size and focus (generalist, tech, healthcare, infra, re, etc.)?
Regarding comp, from your understanding of the street, is PE analyst pay usually 100%+ bonus in London? Is 70k a standard for most UMM/MF for Analysts?
Assoc 1 at MF
£245k all in cash comp (roughly 1:1 between bonus and base). Excludes signing (£20k) and co-invest
Did you join after 2 years of stint as an analyst at BB
Isnt that super high for a €1bn fund? Any hint which one?
How is someone at a €3bn AUM shop getting £260k cash plus carry
Associate 1 - MF (Special Sits)
Base: £135k
Cash Bonus: £61k (45%)
Carry: £84k
Total: £280k
(excludes £65k signing bonus)
Was the EOY bonus a stub?
And wow, £65k signing bonus - very impressive.
I’m impressed by the carry figure - seems quite odd to me, normally carry gets paid with quite a delay - say 5 years and you are mostly given carry from the Sr Assoc level. Without disclosing too much could you expand a bit on the carry structure?
Is in this context Assoc 1 = after 2/3 yrs in Banking? This sounds super high, even at MF level...
Is MF asso pay in par with US equivalents? Do US funds in London do global pay?
Yes
And on global pay, I guess the £260-280 figures were translated from USD right? Honestly just trynna understand UK PE landscape thanks
Private Credit ($20bn AUM)
Analyst 2 (joining after 1 year of BB IB)
Base: £80k
Bonus: £60-80k
+minor carry and equity
That's amazing - congrats. Do you have a view on how ASO1 comp scales?
