Los Angeles private equity opportunities

I'm a rising junior in college and am working at a small boutique PE firm in NYC this summer. I've liked the experience and definitely want to work in PE after graduating but I'd like to live and work in Los Angeles. I know that New York has a much larger market for PE but what is the PE scene like in LA? Which firms are good? How is the lifestlye? if anyone could shed some light on the PE experience in LA (and how it compares to NYC) I'd really appreciate it
