Madison Dearborn thoughts?
I’m in IB and looking into shops. I want to do a generalist program, potentially go to bschool (still on the fence), and looking into NY and Chicago only. I noticed their placement for HBS/GSB is insanely high for their class size. What’s MDP’s reputation? Are they a good shop? How’s comp compared to NY? Are they sweaty? Etc.

Have heard not so great things about the associate program. Very sweaty, not great culture, little chance to stay on post-associate program. It's a great firm and for some reason have heard very good things about MDP post associate level, but know the associate program is an absolute grind.
What sort of hours would you expect at a shop like this?

Great firm. Kinda old school. Pay well for Chicago. B school placement is pretty good overall but they also have a decent number of people who go to Booth / Kellogg. Also:
Sweaty in the sense that there's long hours or poor culture?
Do they pay close to GTCR?
