MBB & Hedge Fund exits
There has been quite a lot of discussions on consultant-friendly PE shops. I do notice that some hedge funds do have ex-MBB consultants as analysts as well (Coatue, for example). What are some HF shops that typically recruit consultants? Is it typical for consultants to go into HF?
Much more uncommon than CO --> HF

I worked in corp strategy and my team leader was an ex-McKinsey EM. He told me a lot of McKinsey folks exit to BridgeWater Associates. Some BridgeWater folks also go work at McKinsey as well.
I interviewed at Sunley House (Advent HF) while a consultant. One of my friends went to Berkshire's HF and he was McKinsey. I know another McKinsey consultant who went to Tiger Global.
The big HF's (e.g., AQR, Two Sigma, BridgeWater, etc.) usually recruit from MBB for almost corporate strategy-esque roles. I personally haven't seen a ton of ex-consultants on the investing side and it's definitely way less common of an exit that in banking / equity research but that's just my 2 cents, maybe it does happen.

I got a HF offer from MBB. I think it’s really hard tbh and the strategies you need to look for are those that would value the MBB diligence skill set (like deep value). L/S funds, big market makers like Citadel, etc. likely aren’t the play
Would you be willing to expand here on your path to HF? Headhunters, prep, type of HF, etc. Would greatly appreciate it.
