Me bitching... A Rant.

Ignore title, in PE.

I joined my MM PE fund 8 months ago and have been getting smoked day-in and day-out. I got staffed on three port-cos (three DOGS of the portfolio - credit amendments, new equity raises, failed bolt-ons, etc.) as someone was transitioning out of the firm when I joined. Another associate joined two months after me and got staffed on one port-co (doing very well). He was supposed to work on new deal sourcing to balance it out but new deals have been slow and he comes at 9:30 and leaves by 5:30-6:00 every day.

I've asked if I could transition one of my portfolios but "it's already too late" as I am too deep into them and "deals could pick back up soon" so the Partners and MDs are unwilling to share the burden.

I am just annoyed and burned out working until at least 1:00am every night and have worked (meaning >3 hours / day) for 63 straight days without a break.

Sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side.

--- End of Rant ---

TC: ~$250K; HCOL - EB bonus alone would've been more.
