VP Signing Bonuses

I’m headed to business school in the fall and I’m hoping to benchmark signing bonuses for VPs signing on for post-MBA roles

Could anyone share any relevant datapoints? If returning to your fund, are bonuses usually paid upon signing the offer or only when rejoining? Are bonuses usually higher for those returning to their same fund (vs. bonuses for those recruiting on campus)?

In comparison to consulting roles which will sponsor MBAs, it seems like PE associates may have the short end of the compensation stick.

Amazing - Didn't realize that there weren't VP signing bonuses. Consulting seems to have better compensation than the IB + PE path for those who go to B-school.

It's close - Just ran the math with some estimates and IB/PE comes out slightly ahead on a pre-tax basis. However, differences in taxes based on location and potential tax allocation of MBA reimbursement to B-school year with a lower marginal rate could easily tilt this in favor of MBB.

IB / PE - Yr. 1 - $200, Yr. 2 - $220, Year 3 - $300, Year 4 - $320, Total $1,040
MBB - Yr. 2 - $150, Yr. 2 - $175, Year 3 - $200, Year 4 - $225, MBA Reimbursement: $200, Total $950

Like the unadjusted- only with a little bit extra.
