MF PE ANA Programs (SLP?)

Currently at HYPSM + SM HF/UMM PE (don't want to specify for anonymity) + Solid EB for 2027 (EVR M&A/PJT M&A), and was wondering when MF PE ANA recruiting starts (specifically KKR/Bain/Warburg/Vista). I know Warburg dropped last month, but not sure about Bain/Vista/KKR

Also, what is the deal with SLP? Do they still take analysts?

I'm incredibly interested in investing, not sure if banking is something I want to do long term, but I want to space out my classes in the case I do MFPE recruiting (since my GPA has sort of slipped post recruiting from low 3.9 to mid 3.8).

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to know:

  1. MF PE Analyst Recruiting Timeline:

    • Warburg Pincus has already started their process, as you mentioned.
    • For firms like Bain Capital, KKR, and Vista, the exact start dates for analyst recruiting aren't explicitly detailed in the context. However, historically, these processes tend to kick off early and can vary slightly by firm. It's crucial to stay in touch with headhunters and monitor announcements closely.
  2. SLP (Silver Lake Partners):

    • Silver Lake Partners (SLP) is known for taking top candidates from schools like Wharton and other elite institutions. They have a structured analyst program and are selective, often targeting the best candidates from top-tier schools and firms. Yes, they still take analysts, and their process is highly competitive.
  3. GPA and Class Planning:

    • Maintaining a strong GPA is important, especially for MF PE recruiting, as firms like KKR, Bain, and Warburg Pincus value academic excellence alongside professional experience. Spacing out your classes to balance workload and maintain a competitive GPA (mid-3.8 is still strong) is a smart move.

If you're targeting MF PE roles, staying proactive with networking, headhunter relationships, and keeping an eye on firm-specific timelines is key. Good luck!

slp stopped giving returns to interns (friend of mine was an intern last summer) and he mentioned they were scaling down the analyst program, so I don't think they have an official process like Warburg but you obviously have a strong resume so maybe you could reach out and see what's possible

Yeah, OP here, not sure if I'm getting warburg because it is so competitive and so well known of a program. But when would i even reach out to SLP (before/after SA27)?

Top banking group > Vista at this point given track record and future trajectory

Look at the velocity of IP exits across the board …

Do you mean one should go from a top banking group to vista, or top banking group is better than vista?
