MM Mezz Fund Internship

Hi guys,

Do you think it is feasible over 6 months to be brought up to a competent Associate / Snr Analyst at a 4/5 person Mezz fund, with limited debt experience?

I have an offer and need to consider day-to-day, how difficult is the job to be brought up to scratch in order to convert to full-time..

Please note I have c. 1-1.5 year M&A experience but limited practical LBO application and will be the only junior in the team for the first two months (with 3 directors)

Many Thanks!

Thanks for the response guys. I'm weighing it against some MM IBD shops and some decent boutiques. Is it better to have a good Mezz fund on your resume or anything IBD?

For obvious reasons, if you want to go in banking, MM IBD should be your first preference over a mezz fund.

Did OP say he wants to go into banking? He is trying to figure out the best position for himself long-term.

@"curiousquaker11" that is a sizable mezz shop. I'd take the opportunity and leverage your experience for FT recruiting. If you choose to try IB, you will have a leg up IMO. Not many interns get experience in that area of the capital structure.

If you are worried about placement, you could go with the MM IB. However, you go to a target, so I wouldn't be concerned with mezz experience to land FT interviews at these IBs or larger ones.
