Move from PE to consulting as a junior

Hi,

I graduated out of Oxford with a good grade in a non-STEM degree and started work at a strategy boutique for several years. From here I got head-hunted to join a 3bn buyout fund where I've been working for the last year. I've learnt a huge amount but I'm starting to miss out on the social aspects of working with a generally younger bunch, and really enjoyed the exposure to project management I was starting to get as I progressed. I'm starting to consider whether a move back to strategy consulting might make sense.

Appreciate this is a less common route, but does anyone have views on how feasible this sort of move might be in the next 1-3 years, and what some potential entry strategies might be? I would like to remain PE-focused but aim high (e.g. MBB, tier 2), and would rather not go down the MBA route.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply, that's great to hear! I'm currently based in Europe - in my region MBB definitely seemed to be growing their PE arms prior to COVID-19, I'm hopeful this trend will continue. I will probably take you up on that once I've had more of a think - thanks again :)
