Moving from Fund Investing to IR at a Global Mega Fund
Hey guys,
I'm currently working at a global Fund of Fund in Asia covering primaries, secondaries and co-investments at a global investment consultant. But my firm has since gone downhill and have little dry powder for the region and the good days are over. Comp is absolute crap as well and barely getting a raise. It's also becoming stagnant as the team is small and expansion in the region is not part of the firm's wider strategy.
I now have the opportunity move to an IR role at a global mega fund, but do understand that the role could be boring af, and completely different to what I'm doing now. I'd be moving at an associate level, so it's all execution-driven, though I do have a good network of LPs already that I know from my current role. Comps are also way better.
Appreciate any thoughts and advice on this.
Thanks!
