Moving to an Infra Fund / Energy PE as a Director

Hi all, creating a throwaway not to be obvious.
I have 2 real life examples of this with people I know so am aware of their perspectives on how to best do it / how tangible that is but curious to hear more from forum members across the globe.

For context, I have worked at a BB and then at at an EB across multiple financial centers all in energy, infra, power, etc M&A and am looking to return to London at a fairly senior level.

If anyone knows of folks who have been able to pull this off / have done it themselves - would be quite keen to hear their perspectives on how they went about it.

Also I am very well aware of the “optimal time to move bla bla” so under no illusions that this move is tougher and less common.
