Pretty sure they shut down? Know an asso that was forced to relocate to nyc.

 

I don't understand why anyone would join Mubadala if it's not the HQ office. If you're based in the London or NYC offices, what edge or differentiation do you bring to the table other than being able to deploy hundreds of millions of dumb money? Why would any LP invest in your US team when they can back any other mid- to large-cap local manager with actual investment experience and networks? 

The satellite offices are somehow both more political and more inept (as they're bound by the constraints of whatever Abu Dhabi wants), filled with middling investment talent. Carry isn't real (most often nonexistent) and you were at best coasting on the prestige of working at a ME SWF, which has now melted away given Iran's blow-up. 

I'd look elsewhere and I would have done this yesterday.
