Not sure how to talk to recruiters
Am an incoming IB analyst (in my last semester of college now) and have been getting emails from PE headhunters/recruiters since I signed my FT offer at the end of the summer.
Having read through WSO, I'm paranoid of giving my info and then having people at my bank find out (environment and seniors are supportive of recruiting off-cycle but not on-cycle). Every time another email / LinkedIn DM comes through I try to research the recruiters' reputation but I never feel able to trust them. Not sure if my fears are overblown or if there are any headhunters I should avoid due to privacy concerns but would appreciate any insight
Don’t overthink it. Your MDs aren’t idiots and know that people leave. Just don’t talk about recruiting at work and make sure you still get your shit done. Head hunters aren’t going to rat on you to bankers - give them the same info you’d give any job application.
Did you reach out to HHs first. Also an incoming analyst but havent got any HHs reaching out
Nope, I just put Incoming Investment Banking Analyst at XYZ as my title on LinkedIn. I would assume if you don't put something on LinkedIn they have no way of knowing (have been getting a ton of notifications saying you appeared in searches this week, these many people viewed your profile, etc.)
