"Off-cycle" 2021 kickoffs

Have received a number of emails from HHs checking in for a recruiting update. Does anyone have insight on which (if any) firms have kicked off off-cycle interviews (most likely from CPI)? Almost sounds like a hilarious second iteration of on-cycle.

Appreciate any thoughts.

Just think about it. You’re a fund, it’s early December, you didn’t go on cycle. “Groan” you say to your colleagues, let’s just wait until the new year. Everyone agrees. You get back from St Barths on the 3rd and then sit on ass for a week because you’d rather do anything else and then you toss the job spec over to headhunters.

In reality it’s not exactly this timeline but this example is meant to be illustrative; just think through why you might be seeing a wave of invitations. It’ll continue happening in waves throughout the year.
