Off-Cycle Pre-MBA Private Equity Recruiting for Consultants
Currently 2 years in at a Tier 2 consulting firm (Strategy&, OW, ATK, Deloitte S&O) New York office and recruiting for PE deal-side roles. Non-Target undergrad, strong UG GPA and SAT Scores. Case experience focused on PE due diligence.
Realized deck is stacked against me here with off-cycle + non-target undergrad + non-MBB consulting. What is the best way to break in from here?
A few questions:
- Is MF possible with networking off-cycle? Have heard most MF usually only recruit on-cycle 18 months ahead
- Have seen the lists of top PE recruiting firms and started cold-emailing them. Many seem focused on bankers though- which recruiters are best for consultants?
d4rkst4r, sorry about the lack of response. Maybe one of these topics will help:
No promises, but maybe one of our professional members will share their wisdom: Pike @caelum245" @2020"
If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...
Best way for you to break in is stop being unrealistic and target the MM. Charles Aris does a good deal with pre-MBA roles at consulting focused PE firms
