HHs will find you. They get the list of emails from class above you - if you have an unusual email like [email protected] and find you're missing emails, totally fine to have friends in your group forward you the email and ask HH to add you to list.

If you want like MF from a LMM or something unrealistic, HHs are very set on the groups they reach out to so just be prepared that not every HH will reach out to you but you can't really sneak your way into top-tier processes by reaching out to them

Networking can't hurt but I wouldn't go overboard.. not banking where you need to send 300 emails. It's totally fine to hop on the phone with a few associates at your favorite group or top 3 groups so you have name recognition and something to reference about the firm in interviews but don't go crazy. Most people don't network for oncycle - process is tightly controlled by HH
