ONEX New York v Toronto Office

Differences between NYC and Toronto offices in terms of headcount, recruiting, deal flow, types of deals, culture, pay, hours, exits? Any insight appreciated!

Thanks, man. Any insight on internal promotion? Do they recruit mostly from NYC BBs or do they focus on Canadians? Assuming associate pay is comparable to MF?

Definitely sweaty in Toronto. Work on hairy deals which can be interesting.

Will nearly match NYC MF compensation but in Toronto (and in USD) making for a pretty sweet deal nearing $400K CAD.

Promotion pipeline is actually quite strong compared to US funds from what I've observed.

Some recent associates have gone to HBS/GSB then Apollo. Otherwise past associates have stayed or launched search funds. Not sure on HF pipeline.
