Only way to enter PE is via Headhunter?
Hello,
Not coming from I-banking so I already know everything is working against me. Still going to try though. Quick question though, is working with a headhunter the only way to land a job at a PE firm? Can you email the firm on the application process at all? Or is finding a headhunter the only way?
You can email the firm. Networking works. Some firms don’t use HHs.
Thanks for the quick response!
Hey, there's about 100 posts here covering your topic. In short, everybody and their dog wants to be in PE and all the obvious entry points are over-crowded with the best and brightest. But, plenty of people have figured ways around this.
I agree with you. I just wasn't sure if it was an unspoken thing where it looks bad to directly contact the firm or associates since everyone always talks about headhunters being the primary way to land PE job. Thanks for your response!
Lmao glad I'm not the only guy telling these idiots theres 100 other threads on here

Some smaller firms do not use HH's (or at least, they don't solely use HH's). In Chicago, there is the PEAC book that you can try to get on/into, their events are open.
