Outlook for climate related investment opportunities over a 40 year time horizon
If you assume we retire in mid to late 60s from all work and most of us are Associates right now that means we have probably just shy of 40 years of work left. One should therefore think: what are going to be the sectors that rise the most over the next 40 years - base case, those will probably net you a good living if you make yourself remotely useful in them.
One sector I am particularly interested in learning about is the investment opportunity for climate related businesses. I'm not sure what this look like. I just read John Doerr's book on the subject and it's mostly high level newsstand prose, so not particularly helpful. Can any industry experts weigh in on whether or not this is a sector worth specializing in? What are the various subsectors and size of each? What about the growth of each? Dynamics? Etc.?
