PE Analyst On-Cycle for HF?
I was wondering how logistics work for HF recruiting, at the junior level, at shops like Coatue, Dragoneer, Lone Pine, Altimeter, etc?
Have heard PE Analyst programs are huge targets (over IB to an extent) because of the investing exposure already.
Is it like PE on-cycle where it is 2 years early, or more-or-less on a "normal" recruiting timeline (at least by finance standards)?
How does it logistically work in terms of these buyside analyst programs especially? With plenty, if not a majority in non-NYC locations (Bain Boston, Vista Austin, Silver Lake Menlo Park, Ares LA, KKR / BX Growth SF etc)?
Thanks!

Well damn
I think the overwhelming majority of those funds do not do "on-cycle." They hire opportunistically.
But don’t a few of the names like Dragoneer and Coatue use big-name HHs like large cap PE firms? Obv Pershing and names like that don’t use HH
or am I just making all this up lol
Even if they use HH they're not doing on-cycle typically. When turnover is as high as it is, can't predict headcount needs 2+ yrs in advance.
