PE associate comp at a $3-5bn fund

Hi all,

Just got a 1st year PE associate offer from a firm of $3-5bn AUM for $275k all in, no co-invest and no carry. In NYC. Am I getting lowballed here? Seems like on this forum the consensus is that for a firm of this size, average comp is at least $300k all in with some form of co invest or carry. I know I might be sounding picky I’m just not sure what market comp is for a firm of this size. Thanks in advance.

Probably on the lighter end but not completely off market, based on my first and second-hand data points. Better indicator is fund size as opposed to total AUM. What is the latest fund size for the firm?

As noted above, carry is rare at the associate level and co-invest rights vary from fund to fund given paperwork is a pain to set up for associates that may be there for ~2 years.
